After experiencing success so soon after MLBRN’s relationship with Teamwrk, amassing millions of streams at an impressive pace. A conversation began between the two entities and Brotherhood Music was founded.
MLBRN as an artist is one of the longest running Islander based rappers in Australia. Starting his career publicly in 2015 the artist has had a controversial past. This has seen him thrust in and out of the lime light over the past 6 years.
The turning point seems to have come with the alignment with TeamWrk Records in July last year. Since signing with the them, it has seen him turn a corner regularly releasing fresh tracks. He has made clear throughout his career the importance of holding his country/culture on his back and the importance of community in music. With this new collaboration he aims to create a direct path for up and coming artists who he believes have faced the same twists and turns he did in the early part of his career.
‘When I first started, it was a very lonely place. I knew I had the talent but it was hard to get a start. Now that I have been lucky enough to further myself in my career I really want to reach out and help other artists. Ones who I believe are being over looked and lack the tools to help take them to that next level in the careers. I am know that this partnership will mean we will have the ability to do that. I hope that with this partnership we have the ability to change someone’s life’
TEAMWRK records has recently enter the conversation as a serious player in the Australian label industry world-wide with the success of Masked Wolf, who’s ‘Astronaut in the ocean’ recently saw over a billion plays.
Even with this success globally Australia and Australian music is still at the forefront of TEAMWRK’s values as a label.
‘MLBRN has been a great artist to work with over the past year, we believe in him as an artist and performer. We also believed we aligned in a vision to help young artists reach their full potential in the Australian Hip Hop space. We are very excited to see where this journey takes us and what great talent we can uncover’.
The focus of ‘Brotherhood Music’ will be to work with, build and grow talent from Australia/NZ. Not only within their local communities but also on a global stage.
‘Brotherhood is exactly that, a community that lifts one another up. We want to build opportunity for young artists our ethics are much the same as Teamwrk records we understand the importance of community in music and we want to use the successes we have created ourselves to help others succeed. Our aim is to bridge the gap and knock over the hurdles that many young aspiring artist face as a team’ said MLBRNs Manager and label partner Danny Grant.
We recommend you watch this space as the sky is the limit with these two key players now linking up.
